Entering Russia was like a child lighting up at Christmas with a new bike. I arrived with great hope and will for hitting the streets for the opportunity to connect with all walks of life.
During Moscow visit, there were very few people out and around. Upon meetings with locals the common theme is “there are no poor areas” and people of all levels income. Apparently, there are not necessarily defined areas where the wealthy live versus the home of the poor. Most are commingled amongst each other. There are a few select known areas such as the Golden Mile and a couple new buildings which are substantially higher in cost. Moscow’s city center is not filled with people asking for help or money like most cities. I only saw 3 people asking during a full day of diving into the culture. I had significant language barriers, however it was very clear these folks only had money on their mind. In fact, they pushed me away when I was attempting communication.
Special Thanks to Alexey Gritsyna in Colorado, USA for arranging a meeting in Moscow through some friends. Several takeaways from this meeting that I will expand when I am back to the States. End result is New Reach Foundation will be partnering up with a couple companies in Moscow to continue to work on bridging the gap between technology and helping people at a global level.
Long story short is He brought me to Moscow, and I took my eyes off Him to build my own Agenda and plan. Just like the new shiny bike at Christmas. The bike is new, fun, and exciting. We need to bask in the why and enjoy knowing exactly where all is coming from.
Objectives were met, however there is so much more available.
He gave me “Relax”,and I stole from this opportunity with my Agenda and my lack of patience.
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant”
1 Corinthians 13:4
A word of encouragement from a local conversation via WhatsApp
“To have a rest – is essential for further activities!”
This leaves me on the point- What is in store? Clearly Mount Elbrus, but so much more is available. There is sowing and watering to be done.
“For there shall be a sowing of peace. The vine shall give its fruit, and the ground shall give its produce, and the heavens shall give their dew. And I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.”
Zechariah 8:12
I will be flying to mineralnye vody early with a long day of traveling by train, taxi, planes and shuttle to get a location to start Mt. Elbrus Trek. Apparently weather is rolling into northern Caucasus mountains. More to come…
